Milton Paquin is a native of Thomaston, Maine.
He attended the New England School of Art in Boston, where he
graduated with highest honors. He then went on to a career as
a graphic designer and creative art director. Over the years,
he won many awards for his logos and design work.
In 1989, Mr. Paquin retired and began to
concentrate on painting watercolors. He traveled extensively and
painted in Europe and the Caribbean before settling in Rockland,
Maine. He continued to work on his paintings, and took on the
task of restoring an 1873 Italianate house.
Mr. Paquin’s watercolors are full of joy and spontaneity, with
free-flowing color and lively brushwork. He is a master at taking
advantage of the unpredictable temperament of the watercolor medium.
He especially enjoys painting scenes of old boats and buildings
that dot the Maine coast.
Mr. Paquin has won many awards, including two First Place Awards
at the Annual Maine Lobster Festival. His paintings and drawings
are in galleries and private collections in the New England states,
New York, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D. C., Texas, California
and Europe.
