GEORGE (BUD) GUZZI is a graduate of Tufts College and the Art
Institute of Boston. He was an instructor at AIB for five years.
He is a member of the Aviation Artists of America, and has traveled
to Panama, Italy, Germany, Spain, and England to document Air
Force activities for the USAF art program. As a member of the
NASA art program, he has documented five launches, a landing,
and astronaut training.
In the last year his aviation paintings have been published in
From Sabre to Stealth, by the Royal Air Force, and WWII in the
Air, by Aviation History. Two of his marine painting demonstrations
have been included in the book Painting Ships, Shores, and the
Sea, by Rachel Wolf. His work is included in the following permanent
collections - The Smithsonian Institution, The National Air and
Space Museum, the US Coast Guard, US Navy, the Kennedy Space Center,
Ford Motor Company, and in the private collections of former President
and Mrs. Reagan, Susan Sarandon, and the Baseball, Basketball,
Football, Hockey, and Racing Halls of Fame.
George and his wife Rita Guzzi, also a notable artist, have taught
landscape painting in Talloires, France for Tufts University.
George has recently created a series of paintings from the canalled
city of Annecy. Having summered for 55 years in Maine his subject
matter is fairly evenly divided between coastal villages in Maine,
and those in France and Italy.
